Baseball has the oldest and deepest card collecting tradition in North America. T206 cards from 1909–1911, 1952 Topps, and 1960s Topps sets form the backbone of the vintage market, while modern players like Mike Trout and Ronald Acuña Jr. power the contemporary segment. CardPawn actively lends against both.

Vintage Baseball (Pre-1980)

Vintage baseball cards are among the most prestigious collateral in the entire sports card market. Key factors for vintage loans:

  • Any PSA-graded T206 card (including commons) values are well-documented
  • 1950s–1960s Topps star cards (Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Clemente) in PSA 5+ are highly liquid
  • Pre-war cards (pre-1940): we require PSA or SGC grading — the vintage authentication premium is critical

Modern Baseball Cards

Modern baseball qualifies when individual cards meet our minimums:

  • Mike Trout RC PSA 10 — consistently one of the most liquid modern baseball cards
  • Ronald Acuña Jr. Prizm Rookie PSA 10 — strong recent sales, growing collateral base
  • 1/1 printing plates from franchise-level players — accepted case by case
  • Numbered autographs (/25 or lower) from active superstars in PSA 10

Canadian Baseball Cards

O-Pee-Chee baseball cards (the Canadian equivalent of Topps) hold particular collector interest in Canada. Key OPC baseball cards CardPawn accepts:

  • 1965 O-Pee-Chee Pete Rose — PSA graded
  • 1968 O-Pee-Chee Nolan Ryan RC — PSA 7+
  • 1972 O-Pee-Chee Carlton Fisk RC — PSA 8+
